A webinar on how the logistics industry can prepare for Brexit has revealed a high level of demand for information.

Hosted by Europa Road, which is part of logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, the webinar drew more than 1,000 delegates from 13 countries who asked a total of more than 200 questions during the session.

The webinar was led by Europa’s Brexit team which included head of customs Lieven Hendrick, who was recently appointed to lead the firm’s multi-country customs operation.

“We had listeners from across the globe participate including the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Finland, Ireland, Italy, UAE, USA and Luxembourg, all hungry for practical information.

The webinar follows the launch of Europa Road’s customs solution, known as Europa Flow, earlier this year, which aims to preserve transit times and the flow of goods between the UK and Europe.

Other Brexit-focused preparations include attaining AEO accredited status, a £2m investment in its Dartford transit warehouse to increase racking capacity by 75% and a further £2m spent on IT.

Europa Worldwide Group has six divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, Europa Showfreight, Europa Warehouse, Europa Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers. Its latest results for the year to 31 December 2019 revealed a 16.5% growth in turnover to £205m.
