DSV has awarded a three-year contract to ATS Euromaster to service the tyres on its 7,000-strong European trailer fleet.
The deal will see ATS Euromaster’s mobile technicians provide routine inspections and follow-up maintenance work on around 1,000 DSV trailers travelling into and out of the UK every day.
Technicians will work across DSV’s 19 UK depots, as well as inspecting tyres at seafreight terminals as trailers enter the country.
A roadside rapid response service will also be included in the contract, which includes 24/7 emergency assistance.
DSV’s trailer fleet includes a mix of 6,500 tri-axle curtainsider and mega trailers, together with 500 temperature-controlled box vans.
The fleet typically unloads in the UK and Ireland, before being re-loaded and travelling to mainland Europe, Scandinavia and Russia.
Flemming Steiness, deputy manager of DSV Road, says: “Selecting the right tyre service provider is critical to our operation.
"We chose to put ATS Euromaster to the test on the back of their proven expertise in this sector, value for money proposition and ability to commit to a three-year partnership.”
Key markets for DSV’s road-based fleet include the transport of industrial goods, textiles, automotive components, hi-tech products, pharmaceuticals and FMCG.
