Culina Logistics has won a chilled warehousing and primary distribution contract with Gu Desserts, part of the Noble Foods Group.
The Shropshire logistics firm says it won back the Gu Desserts business, which was a previous customer of Culina, due to a collaborative arrangement splitting operations between the food manufacturer’s Walthamstow site and its own Haverhill DC.
Simon Grant, supply chain manager at Gu Desserts, says: “Culina was able to demonstrate the various positive opportunities available in the redesign of the previous operation during the tender.”
NFT had held the contract since July 2009.
Last month, Wincanton sold its 20% share in Culina Logistics to the Culina Group for £11m in a bid to reduce its debt through exiting non-core activities.
