Growth from new and existing contracts has seen CM Downton add 300 new vehicles to its fleet.
The operator has bought 100 Daf XF 6x2 tractor units fitted with Super Space cabs and AS Tronic automatic transmission.
It has also ordered 100 curtainsider trailers from Tiger Trailers and 100 Cartwright curtainsiders, all fitted with EN-standard curtains.
CM Downton MD Andy Downton said the business chose the fleet additions off the back of strong relationships with the three manufacturers.
"We have secured significant new business recently and increased operations with a number of existing clients," he said. "These new vehicles will provide additional capacity and flexibility to meet the demands of these operations.
"We’ve always invested in high performance and quality products to support our business and our current fleet predominantly comprises equipment from Daf, Cartwright and Tiger Trailers."
Last year, Downton renewed and expanded its contracts with a number of clients, including Spanish packaging firm Saica. There was also a £12m extension to its deal with Sapa Profiles.
CM Downton will take delivery of the new vehicles throughout 2017.
In November, it signed a lease on a warehouse built by Howard Tenens at Bristol Gateway.
