Pallet network TPN has signed Central Logistics Solutions (CLS) to cover Leicester postcodes.
This is the first time the Markfield-based logistics firm, which boasts clients such as Amazon, Network Rail, Travis Perkins, Toyota and BMW, has joined a pallet network.
CLS, which specialises in general haulage and same-day courier services, as well as managing European shipments through long-term partners, operates a 30-strong fleet.
Director John Musumeci said the decision to go with TPN followed exhaustive research of the sector.
“We narrowed our choices to four, and looked hard at customer reviews, KPI data, and network culture.
“TPN was a clear winner for us because it has an ethos of quality rather than an aggressive sales strategy.
He added: “I have very high standards for customer service because it ensures customer retention and TPN fit with our principles and business model.
“Their approach is relaxed, and unpressured either on members or customers, but nonetheless extremely professional, committed to excellence, and supportive.”
Musumeci said he was delighted to have been given Leicester postcodes for TPN, adding: “We have extensive experience of working with DHL, in particular supporting its NHS Supplychain, so we are already used to working to high external standards.”
TPN MD Mark Duggan said: “CLS is an excellent firm and we are very pleased to welcome them to the network. Joining a network is a little like a marriage - it’s important that your values and goals align from the start and we have that with CLS.”
CLS is the first company to be signed during lockdown with all recruitment meetings taking place via Microsoft Teams.
“And because good business decisions are data-led and not based on a firm handshake or dinner, we can present an excellent business case to hauliers simply by letting them see our performance levels and figures. That tells them almost everything they need to know about how we operate,” Duggan added.
