UPN said its presence in Norfolk had strengthened significantly after substantial investment and expansion by two of its members.

Thetford’s Team C Express are spending a seven-figure sum this year as it looks to segment its business into three operational sectors: pallets, parcels and storage after acquiring two neighbouring units behind its depot.

“We are purposing each segment to meet the specific needs of its individual operation,” explained Team C Express MD Tim Clements.

“It’s all part of our plan for major growth in each segment that we operate. These are exciting times for all of us at Team C Express Logistics, for our customers and also for our suppliers, as we build the scope and scale of our business.”

FreightForce Distribution has a new £2.5m warehouse facility in Great Yarmouth, which it expects to become the main centre for its future distribution operations.

The shed enables FreightForce to store 5,000 additional pallets and takes its total capacity to more than 9,000 pallets.

It has also recently invested in 11 new Mercedes trucks, boosting its fleet to 58 vehicles.

FreightForce chief executive Nick Jolley said: “Despite the challenges of recent years FreightForce has continued to grow strongly. That’s been down to our total customer focus and our strong reputation for high-quality service.

“We are providing a total logistics solution. We have big plans to grow FreightForce and further develop our services.”

UPN regional director Kevin Nightingale said 2023 was proving to be a landmark year for Team C Express as it positioned itself for growth and he added: “Having FreightForce as a part of Team UPN is a huge asset to our network in an important area for our business.”
