EV Cargo has teamed up with wine packaging company The Park and DAF Trucks to deliver goods to retailers using DAF’s CF Electric HGV.
Bristol-based The Park packages 25% of all wine sold in the UK and ships six million bottles per week to retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Aldi.
By using DAF’s CF Electric HGV the company said it will save 2.68kg of CO2 per litre of diesel not consumed.
The CF Electric 4x2 tractor unit is one of the first zero-emission trucks to enter the market. It has a 210 kW electric motor that draws electrical power from a 350 kWh battery pack. The vehicle has a range of up to 250 kilometres.
