Europa Road has seen 85% of its freight customers sign up for its Europa Flow customs service just three months after its launch.
The service aims to help maintain the flow of goods between the UK and Europe after the Brexit transition period comes to an end on 31 December.
It aims to take away the need for EU customers to appoint a customs broker or pay duties on import as well as allowing them to zero rate the VAT on import. It also facilitates exports from the UK to the EU on Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) terms.
Under the DDP system, the seller takes total responsibility for the export and import formalities, transport, duties and taxes – removing the buyer’s need to manage these elements and ensuring it is as easy for the EU customer to buy from the UK exporter after Brexit as it was before.
Europa Road has also set up a customs brokerage business known as 'Frictionless Trade Services' with facilities in Calais, France as well as Oostende in Belgium, which will work alongside its Dartford team to manage export and import declarations and any associated work.

So far 85% of freight customers have signed up as well as almost three quarters (70%) of Europa Road’s exporting clients.
Europa Road sales director Dionne Redpath said: “Customers have been hugely receptive, with 70% of our exporting clients choosing to use Europa Flow, as they are looking for a simple solution for export and import to preserve the flow of goods.
“By using this product our customers are in the strongest position - we have devised a solution to keep goods moving without friction which makes buying from the UK from 1 January the most straightforward it can be.
“As the question of deal or no deal continues, customers can be assured that EuropaFlow works in either set of circumstances, giving customers the peace of mind that they’ve taken all of the necessary steps possible to keeping their goods flowing.”
This is the latest in a series of investments Europa has made ahead of Brexit.
The company invested over £2m in its Dartford transit warehouse last year to increase racking capacity by 75%, as well as spending a further £2m on new services.
Europa Road, which has 13 UK branches, trunks into Europa’s Dartford 1Hub, from which freight connects with daily, direct services to 30 continental hubs.
