XPO has added a “points of interest” function to its mobile app for truck drivers in France and Spain struggling to find truck stops and rest areas still open in the coronavirus pandemic.
The Drive XPO digital points of interest map displays the availability of amenities such as food, restrooms, shower facilities and other essentials needed by HGV drivers.
Luis Gomez, XPO Logistics Europe transport MD said: “Drivers who are finding it difficult to locate available points of interest during COVID-19 lockdowns can rely on the Drive XPO map to make their lives easier.
“It was important to us to develop the technology quickly and support those who are on the frontline in serving our communities.”
Availability in other European countries is planned soon.
