Watson Fuels has launched a phased replacement programme for its 350-strong fleet, which has already seen 58 new DAF rigid trucks enter service with another 30 more due this month.
The Wiltshire-based company said it planned to create a "best in class" fleet operation within three years by increasing the reliability of its fleet as well as reducing down-time, running costs and emissions.
Scott Roberts, Watson Fuels' operations and logistics director, said: “This is a huge investment for the business which heralds a period of transformation for the brand.
“We’ve always been seen as a trustworthy and reliable partner to our customers; we want to build on those qualities while leading the way in the fuels sector by renewing our fleet of vehicles."
Watson Fuels, which employs 700 staff, was acquired by Miami-based World Fuel Services for £117m in 2014.
The Dafs rigids added to date range from 12 to 32 tonne GCW.
The company, which is based near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, delivers heating oil,commercial fuels and industrial lubricants via a UK-wide network of over 50 depots.
