DVSA has published the names of the first operators taking part in its flagship earned recognition pilot, with Wincanton, DPD and John Lewis among the 20-strong cohort. Sainsbury’s has received accreditation to the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme, the 25th van operator to do so since the scheme began in 2010. The retailer runs a fleet of 1,400 vans, and employs some 4,000 drivers, and it satisfactorily achieved the standards laid out in Van Excellence code – which are agreed by a governance group of leading van fleet operators.
