The DVSA is looking at the potential of an Earned Recognition process for operators.
A spokesman told MT: “We are working with the industry to identify opportunities for the adoption of an Earned Recognition process. Last year we held a Voice of the Customer event and we are in regular talks with industry representatives, including TfL, about how the process would work.
"We will continue to work with the industry and communicate any plans throughout 2015.”
As MT understands it, the scheme would be an accreditation one or soemthing like a kitemark for operators. How this would tie in with OCRS remains unclear.
Sir Peter Hendy, TfL commissioner, said at the Clocs progress event last month that he had been in talks with senior personnel at the DVSA about the recognition scheme and was “cautiously encouraged” by the potential it offered.
He added that he had pitched Fors as a ready-made scheme that could meet DVSA’s needs while avoiding the duplication the launch of a separate initiative would bring.
