RHA members have raised more than £26,000 for the international development charity Transaid to help transform lives in Africa.
The group’s board member Bill Hockin handed over a cheque to the CE of Transaid, Caroline Barber at the CV Show in Birmingham this week.
Delegates from across the country were in attendance on a busy day two of the UK’s largest and most comprehensive road freight, transport and distribution event.
Hockin said: “The RHA has been a proud supporter of Transaid since our partnership began in 2015.
“We’re delighted that our members have again shown such generosity in raising a fantastic sum of money over the past year in support the vital work that Transaid carries out, transforming many lives. We look forward to continuing to support this vital work through our partnership in the years ahead.”
Accepting the donation, Barber said: “We are so grateful for the generous support from the RHA and their members which helps us to transform lives in Africa.
“The funds raised will go directly towards supporting our road safety and access to health programmes. This is a fantastic sum and just one of the very many ways that the RHA is supporting Transaid this year.”
