Ballyvesey Holdings, which confirmed the demise of its Birds Transport and Logistics business in May, saw both turnover and profit growth in the year to 30 September 2016. Newly published accounts for the group, which owns Montgomery Transport, Montracon trailers, and a number of truck and heavy plant dealerships, saw turnover climb 1.4% in the period to £621.4m (2015: £613m). The directors at Birds Groupage Services and Montgomery Transport – the two operators that are part of Northern Irish conglomerate Ballyvesey Holdings – have said that they are “disappointed” with the financial performances of the businesses.
Montgomery Transport founder Harold Montgomery has confirmed the demise of Birds Transport & Logistics, bringing the curtain down on a tough period for the well known Midlands firm.
