Knights of Old Group has purchased 12 new MAN TGX tractor units in a deal worth almost £1m. The operator said the vehicles are part of a phase of expansion and ongoing fleet renewal. Knights of Old has acquired 10 new Scanias at short notice for a contract renewal – and had them decked out in a new livery.
Sir Peter Hendy, commissioner at TfL, opened the fourth meeting of the Construction Logistics and Cycle Safety (Clocs) initiative with an admission: “I did not expect this activity to grow as quickly as it has.” He added later in his keynote speech: “You all work on relatively thin margins but you’re bursting with ideas about how to make things safer.”
Bibby Distribution has had five MAN TGS LS tractive units converted into dual-fuel trucks using LPG for its work with Unipart Rail, in a move it suggested would save up to £200,000 of fuel and reduce CO2 emissions by 10% over the next five years.
