Pentalver has said it will continue to seek new opportunities after a year that saw it open a container services site at London Gateway and expand its services in specialist haulage.

For the year-ending 31 December 2015 Pentalver Transport posted a rise in turnover from £62.7m to £65.7m, while pre-tax profit rose to £4.9m, from £4.3m in the previous financial year.

Sister company Pentalver Cannock also saw turnover rise, to £32.9m, compared to £28.9m in the previous year. Pre-tax profit fell to £661,000 from £722,000.

Combined turnover for the two businesses rose 7.4% to £98.6m (2014: £91.8m) while pre-tax profit rose 10.6% to £5.5m from £5m in the previous year.

Chris Lawrenson, MD of Pentalver, told Motortransport.co.uk: “Our results are a testament to proactively addressing our supply chain partners' needs and we have again shown sustainable growth as a business continuing the company ethos of location, service, relationship and value.

“We have continually looked to add and develop new services and locations such as container conversions and our specialist haulage departments and London Gateway. We have an extremely solid foundation to build our business further constantly seeking new opportunities within the logistics sector to create and share value with our customers."

Back in September Pentalver added 52 Scania R series tractor units to its road haulage fleet. The vehicles were split between its Cannock and Felixstowe operations, with 45 and seven vehicles going to each site respectively. The Scania R450s were provided by Scania dealership Keltruck.
