Royal Mail has said it is “very disappointed” that managers have voted to take strike action due to a pay dispute. Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has said it is “disappointed” with union action over plans for compulsory redundancies at its Wakefield manufacturing plant as it is doing all it can to minimise the need for such cuts.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has rejected Royal Mail’s pay rise offer, labelling it as a “sweetener to swallow some very bitter pills”.
Royal Mail Group chief executive Moya Greene said that next year “would be a good aim” for the planned sale of the firm.
