TNT reduced its pre-tax loss and saw its global revenue rise in its final full financial year ahead of its €4.4bn (£3.2bn) purchase by FedEx. FedEx’s €4.4bn (£3.4bn) takeover of TNT Express is set to complete later this month, just over a year since the parcel giants announced the deal.
Boughey Distribution parent NWF Group has revealed that its pre-tax profit fell by a third, despite a 16% increase in revenue. Revenue rose to £540.2m for the year-ending 31 May, up from £463.8m 2011. However pre-tax profit dropped to £5.1m, compared to £7.6m in the previous financial year. UPS and TNT Express have submitted remedies to the European Commission to address its competition concerns, extending the review period further. The submission extends the EC’s review period by 15 business days to 5 February 2013. The proposed remedies involve the sale of the business activities and its assets. UPS needs to ensure the long-term viability of these activities and the continuity of service already provided by TNT Express. In order to receive approval, the EC will market-test the remedies. […]
