Retailer The Co-operative has installed a telematics and transport management system from Microlise. The system, which includes features such as electronic proof of delivery, driver fuel efficiency monitoring and planned-versus-actual route and schedule comparisons, will cover more than 1,300 trucks. The deal extends an existing nine-year working relationship between the two companies. The Co-operative Food Group has once again reassured its HGV drivers that there are no plans to outsource the remainder of its operation, after the planned transfer of staff in the West Midlands to Eddie Stobart is complete.
Rafal Kolanko, a driver at Samworth Brothers Supply Chain, has been named the Microlise Driver of the Year 2017.
More than 700 Co-operative Food Group drivers are being balloted for industrial action over a plan to transfer around 50 drivers in the Midlands to haulier Eddie Stobart this April.
