Former Norbert employee Kevin Richardson has been confirmed as CILT chief executive Steve Agg’s replacement. Agg announced he was set to retire at the end of this year back in April, after almost 10 years in the role. Analysts have given a mixed response to a recent media report claiming US retail giant Home Depot had held internal talks about a potential bid to acquire XPO Logistics.
The acquisition of Christian Salvesen in 2007 was a watershed moment for Norbert Dentressangle. Not only did it nearly double its turnover over night (from €1.8bn in 2007 to €3.1bn in 2008) it was the catalyst for a major international acquisition spree that has seen it expand its interests into Spain, Italy, Portugal, Russia and the USA. This boom also saw it buy TDG, and its annualised turnover of £700m.
Norbert Dentressangle has won a three year contract renewal with cooking equipment manufacturers Hobart UK, worth over £1m. The deal will see ND deliver cooking equipment, washers and food preparation machines to restaurants, supermarkets, professional kitchens and shops, including Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Nando’s. “After another successful three years, with ND delivering an excellent service, I was happy to renew the contract for a further three year period,” says David Riley, director of warewash at Hobart UK.
