Steve Agg is to retire as chief executive of the Chartered Institute for Transport and Logistics (CILT).
After almost 10 years in the role, Agg will step down at the end of December this year.
His replacement is yet to be determined, but CILT said the selection process is underway and that it hopes to have made an appointment by autumn.
In February this year CILT appointed senior traffic commissioner Beverly Bell as its president, which is thought to be the first time a TC has held the role.
Bell said: “It is both an honour and a privilege to be given this opportunity to represent the logistics and transport profession during such an exciting period of growth and development"
