DPDgroup UK, which trades as DPD and Interlink Express, has seen turnover rise 26% and pre-tax profit increase 19.6% and said it is “well placed to deliver further growth”.

In the year from 30 December 2013 to 4 January 2015 DPDgroup reported turnover of £872.5m, up from £692.3m in its previous financial year. Pre-tax profit rose from £87.2m to £104.3m. Until this year both DPD, previously registered at Companies House as GeoPost UK, and Interlink Express reported separately but have now consolidated accounts into the newly formed DPDgroup UK.

The parcel giant, which won an unprecedented five honours at the MT Awards earlier this year, said that its largest share of turnover came in next day parcels, but it was also continuing to grow in premium, international and specialist value-add services. Some £780.4m of turnover was generated from the UK.

According to the directors’ report the company will continue to target market share growth and they believe that with its “very strong financial position” – alongside the strength of its parent La Poste – it is in a “market leading position for future development”.

During 2014 DPD invested in its £100m hub in Hinckley, Leicestershire, which became operational in August and has extended DPD’s capacity by 65%.
