Hervé Montjotin, formerly chief executive of Norbert Dentressangle, has left his position as chief executive of XPO’s European business less than three months into his new role.
US company XPO purchased Norbert Dentressangle earlier this year having tabled a €3.24bn (£2.3bn) bid in April. The deal was completed in June.
He has been replaced by XPO chief operating officer Troy Cooper, according to an SEC filing in the US. It adds that Cooper will retain his position while assuming chief executive responsibilities for XPO’s operations headquartered in Lyon, France.
Cooper was appointed to the position on 3 September, with Montjotin leaving XPO on 4 September.
Prior to joining XPO in 2011, Cooper held senior management roles with United Rentals and United Waste Systems and earlier worked in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and Co.
Cooper will continue to report directly to Bradley Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of XPO.

Speaking to Motor Transport earlier this year Montjotin described the acquisition of Norbert Dentressangle by XPO as a “golden opportunity” and “the best solution” for the future of the business.
