Hoyer Petrolog has finished taking delivery of 253 Euro-5 MAN and Scania units, as part of an £8m upgrade to its petroleum, bitumen and fuel oils fleets that began last year. MANs form the majority of the fleet renewal, accounting for 185 units, with 68 Scanias also coming in, all on a mixture of three, five and seven year leases. The UK MD of Hoyer Petrolog, the German bulk transport giant, has said that Britain is “experiencing very mixed general economic conditions and fragile confidence” after the company saw turnover and profit dip.
Trading at the transport operations at Welch’s Transport this year is “progressing well” after a “reasonable performance” in 2012, according to MD Jim Welch.
Scania (GB) has won an order for at least 2,250 trucks from Consortium Purchasing, an operation led by William Stobart, executive chairman of Greenwhitestar Acquisitions (which owns Eddie Stobart, The Pallet Network and iForce), and Allan Jenkinson (owner of A W Jenkinson Forest Products).
