Middlesbrough-based multimodal haulier AV Dawson has taken delivery of four Actros 2545 trucks with 449hp straight-6 engines and StreamSpace cabs.
The trucks were ordered through Bell Truck and Van after the operator trialled Euro-6 models, where an Actros 2545 averaged 8.9mpg.
Two of the trucks are being used on long-distance container and general haulage work, while the other two are used on double-shifted work and local deliveries.
All are being inspected and serviced under seven-year Mercedes-Benz R&M contracts at the Billingham branch of North East franchisee Bell Truck and Van.
