Hermes has appointed two new board members to help support its plans for growth in the home delivery market.

Ex-Parcelforce board member Gary Winter has joined the company as sales and marketing director, along with Jane Naumkin as human resources director.

Winter has experience of the parcel industry through his previous roles as head of business development at Royal Mail packets and business transformation director at Parcelforce. He has also worked for UK Mail, Pitney Bowes and PFE International and his new role will see him support Hermes’ expansion in business and new product development, marketing and account management. He takes commercial director Jon Tobbell’s position on the board, who has now left the company.

Naumkin replaces Paul McCormack as human resources director and has 14 years of experience in HR, holding director positions at scientific product manufacturer Thermo Fisher, Rolls-Royce and IT and communications company BAE Systems.

Carole Woodhead, chief executive of Hermes in the UK, said: “Both Gary and Jane bring considerable experience to their roles and moving forward will both contribute to helping achieve our long term business strategy and growth targets.”

Hermes has recently opened four new depots at West Thurrock, Maidstone, Carlisle and Coventry as it prepares for increased volumes during its Christmas peak.
