Ceva Logistics is to operate a European parts DC for aircraft manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.
Ceva will provide 8,000ft² of dedicated space at its Heathrow Airport site. The DC will replace Gulfstream’s operation in Madrid and will supply parts across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and the Nordics.
Under the contract, Ceva will take control of all imports, exports, customs and ground transport for Gulfstream, which is a subsidiary of General Dynamics. It will also dispatch items to Gulfstream sites across the globe, as well as provide support for customers.
The two parties have worked together for over 10 years in the USA.
Steve Hunt, Ceva’s General Dynamics account manager said: “We are delighted that our proposal to operate the new European parts distribution centre for Gulfstream has been accepted.
“We appreciate the critically-important nature of this new operation, and look forward to providing Gulfstream with a round-the-clock service that will further enhance its excellent customer service reputation.”
Ceva recently put 160 trucks and 180 trailers into operation in the UK, representing a multi-million pound investment.
