Baxter Freight has partnered up with customs specialists Gerlach to provide customers with advice and support for when the transition period ends on 1 January.

The company said the agreement should enable a smooth process for customers whose shipments will be subject to additional checks and documentation – regardless of whether a trade deal is hammered out or not.

Baxter Freight said Gerlach will provide customs clearance services at all suitable locations including borders.

Peter Isler, Baxter Freight MD, said: “Gerlach’s customs expertise across Europe will be an enormous support for our customers and will keep freight moving at a complicated time.

“Our current and future customers should take a lot of confidence from our level of preparation for Brexit and the network we have built.”
