Shareholder status and “attractive” postal codes lured West Bromwich-based haulier Warley Carriers away from TPN to Pallet-Track.

The family owned firm, which specialises in transporting automotive and retail goods between the UK and Ireland, will operate the Walsall (WS) and Birmingham B66 postcodes for Pallet-Track.

The firm, which runs a fleet of around 50 trucks and 30 trailers across three sites in West Bromwich, Belfast and Dublin, has opened a new warehouse next to its headquarters in West Bromwich, which will be dedicated to its Pallet-Track operation.

Warley Carriers joined Pallet-Track last month, as the network’s 83rd shareholder. Director Chris Kibble told CM: "Joining Pallet-Track makes us a shareholder member, something we never had at TPN. This gives us more certainty, particularly as we go through Brexit.”

He added: “There are a number of advantages of joining the Pallet-Track network, not least that we are very close to one another geographically.

“We are also covering very attractive postcodes, and the way it has been done allows for a more efficient and cost-effective solution for customers in the broader area.

“Pallet-Track is a very attractive and well-respected company which is at the top of the pallet network as far as we are concerned. Pallet-Track also worked hard to bring us on board and we also have the luxury of being able to access their centralised functions – it is a win-win for both businesses.”
