Strike action at Royal Mail has been put on hold after the postal operator won a court ruling against the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Royal Mail has called the threat of strike action by members of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) “harmful”, ahead of the union’s meeting this week to decide whether a ballot should be held.
Today Wincanton posted what its MD Eric Born (pictured) called a “boringly predictable” set of half year results, with a 1.6% decline in group turnover and a 2.6% increase in operating profit.
Royal Mail is increasing prices for some of its mail contracts to help offset the impact of the decline in mail volumes and generate cost savings.
