DHL has won a nationwide vehicle distribution contract with car dealership Vindis Group. The new contract will see DHL’s vehicle distribution arm Inside Track handle over 4,000 movements of new and demonstrator vehicles per year from Vindis’ site in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire, while the majority of the deliveries will take place in the East of England. Carlsberg UK is planning to outsource its entire secondary logistics operation to DHL Tradeteam as part of plans to refocus its efforts on brewing.
The threat of a tanker driver strike could now be averted, as the Unite union and fuel distribution companies reach agreement over a new set of proposals. Unite has also been given an extended industrial action mandate of 21 May to allow it time to discuss the new proposals with its 1,200 tanker driver members.
