Paul Dyer (pictured) will become chief executive of DHL Supply Chain UK and Ireland on 1 January 2017, with Perry Watts retiring from the role after eight years.

Dyer is currently president, global automotive, at DHL Supply Chain, where he is responsible for shaping the long term growth and strategic direction of its automotive business globally.

On being appointed as chief executive of the UK Supply Chain business he will also join the divisional board.

Watts has served as chief executive since 2008, and his career at Deutsche Post DHL spans 21 years having joined in 1995. He has worked in key account management as well as being MD of non-food and food retail.

For the year ended 31 December 2015 turnover at DHL Supply Chain fell to £4bn, from £4.13bn in the previous year, while pre-tax profit rose to £108.1m, from £91.7m in 2014.
