DHL Supply Chain is facing strike action from drivers at a Nottinghamshire DC serving client Marks and Spencer (M&S) due to a row over pay.
Seven days of disruption are set to commence on 18 December after members of the URTU voted “overwhelmingly” in support of strike action.
The HGV drivers are employed on the firm’s M&S contract at DHL’s Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire, depot.
Long Eaton is understood to deliver to around 70 M&S stores, as well as trunking and port container work. DHL operates 29 artics from the DC and employs 37 core drivers there, as well as agency workers.
URTU said: “The union have confirmed their commitment to finding a negotiated settlement to the dispute and have informed the company that they will be available to meet the company prior to any action taking place.”
DHL told Motortransport.co.uk that it did not expect any major disruption to M&S store deliveries.
“We are disappointed that drivers at Long Eaton have rejected our pay offer and voted in favour of strike action from Friday 18 December 2015 until Thursday 24 December 2015.
“We are working with Marks & Spencer to minimise disruption and are confident that stores will not be adversely affected,” said a DHL spokeswoman.
The dispute comes after GMB union members at DHL Supply Chain’s Cherwell Campus site in Banbury, Oxfordshire, called off a series of one-day strikes over a long-running pay dispute after securing a revised deal fro DHL.
