Pentalver is preparing to open its London Gateway depot next month, bolstering the container haulier’s operation in the South East. Roadways Container Logistics has returned to profit despite a fall in turnover and a warning that rates in the market remain depressed. For the year ended 31 December 2011, Roadways achieved a pre-tax profit of £319,000, compared with a pre-tax loss of £697,000 in the previous year. The MD of one of the largest container hauliers in the UK has warned that the pattern of business in the sector will “change dramatically” over the next 12 months when the London Gateway opens at the end of the year.
