Yusen Logistics has won a distribution contract with white goods manufacturer Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA).
The contract will see the firm make daily collections from GDHA’s national distribution centre in Stoke-on-Trent and deliver domestic products, including brands such as Belling and Stoves, to retailers nationwide, visiting each postcode twice or three times per week. It will also deliver industrial products, such as fridges, to hospitals and healthcare centres.
“Our previous logistics solution gave us only one delivery per postcode per week. We’re delighted to have found a solution which offers increased delivery frequency, coupled with quality, we believe this will enable up to 20% increase in our sales,” said Ian Worsley, head of logistics at GDHA.
Yusen were unavailable to comment on the length of the contract.
