XPO Logistics has won a new contract with Lancashire joinery specialist Performance Doorset Solutions (PDS) that will see it be responsible for some 50 movements per week.

PDS is part of Masonite Group, and XPO Logistics already handles movements for the US door specialist out of sites in Barnsley and Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Masonite will now consolidate its supply chain with XPO as the carrier.

Mike Bratt, site director at PDS, said: “This new contract means more rapid innovation, an end to factory stockpiling, more efficient solutions, and faster delivery for our customers.”

XPO said that it would be basing a transport manager at the PDS factory to “drive change and assist when onsite support is absent”.

“The immediate improvement in compliance means that PDS can continue to focus on what they do best: provide best-in-class products to their rapidly growing customer base,” said Andy Lisle, contract manager at XPO Logistics.
