Wincanton has sealed a deal with ambient grocery firm LDH (La Doria) to provide warehousing.
The operator will provide LDH with warehousing and storage across a number of sites in the South East.
Wincanton will oversee some 10,000 shipping containers and handle more than 200,000 tonnes of products a year, with the vast majority of goods being unloaded by hand by Wincanton’s staff as part of the deal.
Liam McElroy, Wincanton’s MD for consumer and retail, said: “LDH is a great addition to our market-leading FMCG portfolio of clients and we’re looking forward to developing a long term partnership with them.”
Paul Nicholas, logistics director at LDH (La Doria) said: “We were impressed by Wincanton’s obvious knowledge and experience within our market sector.
“At all times during the contract negotiation and more importantly the transitional period, they provided maximum commitment and diligence to LDH.”
