TNT Express has secured a three-year contract renewal with Volvo, covering the delivery of parts to factories and aftermarket dealers across Europe.

The deal involves the collection of parts from more than 800 suppliers and delivering them to its truck and bus production facilities in Sweden, Belgium, France and Poland.

TNT also covers the delivery of parts to Volvo dealers from the vehicle manufacturer’s warehouses or from parts suppliers directly, usually before 7am the following day.

TNT, which last week revealed turnaround specialist Marianne Culver as its MD, also plans to move into a former City Link depot in central London. It has secured a 10-year lease on the Willow Walk, Bermondsey depot and plans to move into the site, which will be used for both domestic and international delivery operations, next month.

TNT UK director of operations Simon Harper said: “This investment fits in with our Outlook strategy through which we are continuing to review and invest into our network infrastructure and automation, to provide the very best levels of service to our customers and so we can operate at cost competitive levels.”
