Steve Porter Transport has won a contract to deliver solar panels to the Isle of Wight, as part of the island's plans to invest in renewable energy.
A spokesman said the contract was awarded to the Isle of Wight-based haulier by Davies Turner Logistics.
It involves the collection and delivery of over 1,000 pallets of solar panels from warehouses in Dartford and Eastleigh, Hampshire to the Isle of Wight.
MD Malcolm Gibson said: “It’s very exciting to be part of this plan and as an island-based business for more than 35 years we have more experience in delivering goods to and from the Isle of Wight than any other transport company.”
Last year, the Fortec member spent £750,000 on 40 new trailers as part of its fleet replacement cycle.
