Contract hire isn’t new - but Vertellus does it differently. Backed by Renault Trucks and its dealer network, it owns the service, support and expertise it provides, giving fleets consistent control whether they run diesel or electric anywhere in the UK.

Operators have never had it tougher. Diesel costs remain high, clean air zones are spreading across the country and the shift to electric is accelerating. But whatever the pressures, trucks still need to be out on the road, day in, day out.
That’s the backdrop for Vertellus, the contract hire business owned by Renault Trucks and its dealer partners, which says its job is simple: take away some of the uncertainty.
“Our customers don’t want glossy promises,” says commercial director Rhian Burrell (pictured right). “They want confidence that their vehicles will be available when they need them, and that the costs won’t suddenly spiral. That’s where we come in.”
What makes Vertellus different?
Vertellus offers fixed-price, full-service contract hire on diesel and electric trucks. The difference is in how it’s delivered.
Most providers piece together finance, servicing and parts through third parties. Vertellus doesn’t. As the only UK contract hire provider owned by an OEM – Renault Trucks and its dealer partners – it controls its own network. That means manufacturer-trained technicians, genuine parts, and consistent standards across the country.
“That’s the bit people sometimes miss,” Burrell says. “Because we own the network, customers aren’t exposed to other people’s standards. A fleet running in Glasgow and Bristol gets the same level of support in both places. For operators with vehicles across the UK, that consistency really matters.”
The EV question

Electrification is now firmly on the agenda for operators, but the journey looks different for everyone. Burrell says the key is helping fleets take the right steps at the right time.
“Some customers are trialling electric trucks today, others are planning a longer transition,” she explains. “We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all answer. We look at the routes, the depots, the loads. Sometimes diesel is still the right solution, sometimes EV is. Our role is to make sure whatever decision they take is backed by the right support and expertise.”
Through Renault Trucks, Vertellus has early access to the latest low- and zero-emission technology. Burrell says that gives customers reassurance. “It means when operators are ready to move, we’re already prepared with proven solutions. They know they’ll have the backing of a manufacturer and dealer network that understands how to keep vehicles on the road.”
New look, same ethos
Vertellus has unveiled a refreshed brand identity, an evolution that reflects where the business is today and where it’s heading.
“We’re more established, more ambitious, and ready for a brand identity that shows it. We’ve taken the heart of the original brand and reimagined it for the next chapter – a look and feel that honours our beginnings, but with the confidence and energy to take us forward.”
The ethos hasn’t changed. Vertellus has always promised contract hire with a difference. The new identity simply makes that difference clearer – showing the strength of the owned network, the consistency across regions, and the practical support operators can rely on.
