Segen, a renewable energy tech distributor, has entered into a partnership with AI-powered logistics provider POSTX to offer zero-emission deliveries.

It follows a three-month trial of the POSTX service with Segen customer E.ON, which saw a 3.1-tonne reduction in CO2 emissions and a 1,400% improvement in delivery efficiency.

As a result, E.ON has chosen Segen and POSTX as its preferred delivery service for residential customers.

POSTX said its mission was to transform the way goods are moved by providing transportation infrastructure to improve the sorting, loading and last-mile delivery of heavy goods and road freight.

Products are transported in aerodynamically-designed ‘pods’, or box trailers, pulled by electric SUVs, removing the need for ICE vans and trucks and providing an emission-free delivery process.

Max Glaisher, chief executive and co-founder of POSTX, said: “Every year, around five million delivery trucks clog UK roads - many running far below capacity and spending unnecessary time in transit due to outdated routing methods.

“These inefficiencies lead to excessive fuel consumption and increased emissions.

“POSTX offers a game-changing solution: fewer trucks, smarter routes and better use of existing assets.

“Our mission is to replace all 3.5-tonne to 7.5-tonne trucks currently on UK roads with pods pulled by electric vehicles, significantly reducing emissions and transforming delivery operations.”

Steven Cotterill, E.ON global category manager, added: “Last year’s pilot with Segen and POSTX not only exceeded our expectations in terms of reducing carbon emissions, but it also improved delivery efficiency and removed key friction points for our customers.

“This success has reinforced the integral role of Segen and POSTX in our delivery strategy, making them non-negotiable partners in our path forward.”
