Whistl has seen off competitors to land a contract with Tesco to provide warehouse, fulfilment, delivery and return management services for the retailer’s newly launched online service for its F&F clothing line, which is now available to order through Tesco.com and the Tesco app.

The competitive tender process saw Whistl selected to work with F&F Online to jointly develop a bespoke fulfilment through to delivery and returns management solution.

The brief also included IT integration to ensure a seamless purchase experience for customers, including earning Tesco Clubcard points on their F&F Online orders.

During the past seven months, Whistl has invested £7.5m in its Lutterworth site to increase capacity by 160,000sqft, from 300,000sqft, through the construction of a multi level mezzanine structure with 40,000 sq ft per floor, complete with automated conveyors, which will enable the company to process around 250,000 pick and pack items per week.

Fliss O’Hara, Whistl Fulfilment managing director, said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be working with F&F Online. We have been working closely with the Tesco team to provide a tailored service that meets their specific requirements.

Nick Wells, Whistl executive chairman, said: “Winning F&F Online is a great result for the Whistl Group, and I want to thank everyone across the business for their hard work in getting us ready for launch, from building the new mezzanine to integrating the IT systems into our own warehouse management system.

“This is an exciting milestone in the development of our fulfilment business, and we are looking forward to supporting Tesco F&F as it grows its online presence in the coming years.”
