Whistl Fulfilment has taken occupancy of a 335,000sq ft warehouse at Prologis Park, Wellingborough, to support the growth of a major consumer electronics customer and build capacity for further growth.

The new site, built to the latest best-in-class sustainable practices, is rated BREEAM Excellent and EPC A. It has capacity for 72,500 pallets and has three level access doors, 32 dock doors, and four Euro dock doors with space for 80 HGVs.

Fliss O’Hara, Whistl Fulfilment MD, said: “We have the flexibility to listen to our customers and develop the best solutions that work for their individual needs.

“In this case our move into Wellingborough enables us to support our customer as it continues to build its fast-paced omni-channel retail presence in the UK and provide capacity for future growth from new customers.”

Whistl Fulfilment operates six sites across the UK with 1.5m sqft of dedicated multi-channel fulfilment space and works with over 50 brands and retailers.

The Whistl Group diversified from Mail and Parcels into Fulfilment eight years ago.

In April the company selected to provide Tesco F&F Online with fulfilment, delivery and returns management services to enable it to return to online retailing after a seven-year absence.

Whistl Fulfilment said it is continually investing in its capacity, pointing to its most recently £7.5m investment in a 160,000sq ft multi-level mezzanine structure in Lutterworth, including automated conveyors enabling the processing of around 250,000 pick and pack items per week.
