ID Logistics is planning to recruit 500 staff in the UK this year to bolster its rapid growth in the country, reinforce existing operations and support plans to launch new logistics sites.

The move is part of a wider global recruitment campaign, which will see the French logistics and ecommerce giant recruit 6,000 staff worldwide in 2026.

ID Logistics has expanded its business rapidly in the UK since landing in 2023, and now operates major sites in Northampton Grange Park, Sittingbourne, and Leeds.

Globally the company manages nearly 450 sites across 19 countries, and employs over 42,000 people worldwide.

This year ID Logistics said it will continue to expand its international footprint, with major projects “notably concentrated” in the UK, the United States, France, and Brazil, which it said are the main drivers of the group’s recruitment momentum.

These recruitments will cover a wide range of roles, primarily operational logistics positions, including drivers, order pickers, and forklift operators, as well as frontline management, site management and support function staff.

In the UK, which is the fourth-largest recruiting country, ID Logistics said it is planning to hire nearly 500 new staff, which it said “reflects the group’s breakthrough in the UK market and the strong growth of this entity, which was established just two years ago.”

In December last year ID Logistics won a major e-commerce contract to operate a new 450,000sq ft fulfilment centre in Sittingbourne, Kent, creating over 300 jobs for the local area.

The new facility will launch in early May 2026 and support the company’s expanding customer base in the e-commerce sector.

The Sittingbourne site will provide advanced warehousing, fulfilment and distribution services, supported by the latest automation and digital technologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

ID Logistics said its strategy of permanent recruitment is part of a long-term vision closely linked to skills development and career progression.

The group said it primarily promotes internal mobility and internal promotion, supported by structured training programs, to develop and strengthen its own teams, relying on a shared skills framework and a strong operational culture.

It added that this corporate culture is also underpinned by an international mobility policy, designed to offer employees broader professional exposure.

In 2025, more than 250 employees took part in an international mobility experience, either by supporting site start-ups and operational ramp-ups, or through temporary missions focused on operational support and training.

Renaud Bouet, ID Logistics group human resources dirdector, said: “Mobility is a key development lever at ID Logistics. It enables our employees to broaden their skills, share best practices and actively support the group’s growth, while remaining strongly connected to their teams and local environments. It is a key driver of sustainable performance, both for our employees and for the company.”
