French contract logistics giant ID Logistics has officially launched its second hub, located in Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, promising the creation of over 300 new jobs at the site.

The new facility, which will act as a dedicated hub for a major global e-commerce player, spans 550,000sq ft and comes with advanced warehouse management systems.

The site will support high-volume order fulfilment, seasonal peaks and next-day delivery capabilities across the UK.

The unit is located off J42 of the A1 (M), and was let to ID Logistics with no void period.

The warehouse has grade A specification including 56 loading doors, 15m eaves height, three service yards, and offices.

It forms part of The Sherburn Distribution Park, which is home to occupiers such as Sainsburys, GXO, Eddie Stobart, and Kingspan.

ID Logistics said the hub will complement its growing footprint in the UK, adding that it marks a “significant milestone” in the company’s UK expansion. The group specialises in sectors including e-commerce, retail, and FMCG

ID Logistics UK also operates a a 65,800sq metre site in Northampton, which it opened in June 2023.

The group, which has its headquarters in France, manages nearly 400 sites in 18 countries, across Europe, America, Asia and Africa, and employs around 38,000 staff.

In 2023 it reported revenues of €2.75bn (£2.34bn).
