DX Group is expanding its dangerous goods capability across mainland UK, allowing customers to move a wider range of products through its parcel and pallet networks.
The logistics operator said the enhanced service operates wholly within the Limited Quantity rules and covers products including paints and coatings, cleaning chemicals, aerosols, adhesives and sealants, lubricants and oils, resins and solvents, industrial chemicals, lithium batteries and battery-powered equipment.
DX said the move builds on its existing biological materials service and forms part of its wider programme to develop the depth and scope of its operations.
The company can also provide alternative solutions for consignments that fall outside its standard Limited Quantity service, allowing customers to retain a single point of contact and consignment visibility.
The expanded service is supported by a new online information hub, which provides guidance on the service and allows customers to check whether their products are eligible for transport through the DX network. It also provides access to the company’s in-house specialist team.
Ian Truesdale, DX Group chief executive, said: “The expansion of our dangerous goods service means that customers will be able to move more of their products across the mainland UK with a single logistics partner. That reduces complexity while delivering operational and cost advantages for our customers.
“As our customers’ requirements continue to evolve, so does DX. Investing in specialist capabilities, such as Limited Quantity dangerous goods, enables us to support a broader range of delivery requirements while continuing to deliver the high levels of service our customers expect from us.”
The move is the latest in a series of developments under Truesdale, who became DX chief executive in July 2025.
In January, DX acquired Bedfordshire-based HBC Logistics, a business providing warehousing and fulfilment, palletised freight, same-day courier services and international shipping.
HBC operates from a 62,000sq ft facility at Biggleswade, with additional support centres in Hertfordshire, Cambridge and London. DX described the acquisition as the first step in its next phase of growth.
DX subsequently agreed a strategic partnership with Rhenus Logistics under which it is taking responsibility for Rhenus’s two-person home delivery services in the UK and Ireland.
DX is becoming the exclusive delivery partner for Rhenus’s European Home Delivery proposition in the two markets, with the work being phased into DX’s existing two-person operation.
The latest dangerous goods expansion adds another specialist capability to DX’s growing portfolio of parcel, freight, fulfilment, same-day and home delivery services.
