The Mercedes-Benz Actros 2530 chassis are being supplied by Midlands Truck & Van and fitted with bespoke curtainside bodies designed to handle both traditional pub deliveries and an increasing volume of palletised loads.

The new vehicles will join Carlsberg Britvic’s UK fleet of around 350 heavy vehicles and 120 trailers, which are used to distribute its range of beers, soft drinks and associated products, including CO2 gas canisters, to pubs, hotels and restaurants.

The Bevan bodies are built to EN12642-XL standard and feature bespoke load restraint systems.

Each truck is equipped with six ladders to provide access to and from the load deck, as well as kerb ramps and safety lighting.

Dhollandia cantilever tail lifts have also been fitted, with custom-built safety gates to support delivery operations.

The trucks feature nine different curtain livery designs showcasing products from the Carlsberg Britvic drinks portfolio.

The graphics were supplied and fitted by Bevan’s in-house Graphics Depot operation.

Roy Shelton, Bevan Group sales director, said the relationship with Carlsberg Britvic began during the Covid pandemic, when shortages of new chassis led the drinks company to purchase used vehicles fitted with Bevan bodies.

He added that the bodies “were already more than eight years old but were in such good condition that the fleet team asked us to submit a bid for their next batch of new vehicles. We’ve been working together ever since.”

Kevin O’Rourke, Carlsberg Britvic national fleet manager, said the company had been impressed by the build quality of the Bevan bodies and the manufacturer’s collaborative approach to developing the vehicle specification.

“These latest trucks are the result of the excellent working partnership that we’ve developed and will help us deliver the highest standards of service to our customers around the UK,” he added.

Bevan Group, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, said the new vehicles would be deployed across Carlsberg Britvic’s UK operation during 2026.
