Northampton-based AIT Home Delivery has secured a home delivery contract with Northern Ireland-based electric bike retailer Kubbi as the start-up prepares for further growth.
Kubbi, which specialises in electric dirt bikes, scooters and quads for children and teenagers, has appointed AIT to handle deliveries across the UK after reviewing several two-person home delivery providers.
Under the agreement, AIT collects orders daily from Kubbi’s warehouse in Northern Ireland before shipments travel via Belfast or Larne to mainland Britain for final delivery.
Customers are offered a three to five-day delivery service, while AIT also manages product returns.
Paul Tempany, Kubbi’s co-founder and director, said previous experience of working with AIT, formerly known as Panther Logistics, influenced the decision.
He said: “I worked with AIT Home Delivery when it was known as Panther Logistics, so I knew from first-hand experience that the quality of its service matched its reputation.
“Problems arise in logistics, but AIT’s manager at its depot in Larne is excellent to deal with. Anything that needs doing is done and problems are resolved quickly.”
Kubbi, which marked its first year of trading in June, expects to achieve turnover of around £1.2m this year and is forecasting further growth over the next two years.
The retailer said demand for its products is being driven by growing consumer interest in electric alternatives to petrol-powered bikes and quads.
