AIT Home Delivery has launched a same-day, two-person home delivery service for large and bulky goods across mainland Britain - which the company claims is a UK first.
The service is aimed at retailers and manufacturers looking to offer same-day delivery for products including furniture, appliances and other oversized items.
Deliveries are carried out by two-person crews using AIT’s existing national delivery network.
AIT, which was formerly known as Panther Logistics, said the service was developed in response to customer demand and is intended for orders placed for same-day delivery, rather than service recovery.
AIT said the new service differs from conventional same-day parcel delivery by being designed for larger products requiring two-person handling.
The company, which has its UK headquarters in Northampton, said its client services team will coordinate same-day orders and manage delivery requests through its network.
The launch comes as AIT continues to expand its European operations. The company recently entered the German market and has also been developing its international operations.
The service forms part of AIT’s existing range of home delivery services, which includes next-day and nominated-day delivery, room-of-choice delivery, unpacking and packaging removal, assembly, installation and returns management.

AIT Home Delivery, which is a subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics, introduced a next-day, two-person home delivery service in the UK 15 years ago.
