Underlay and flooring accessory manufacturer Interfloor has outsourced its transport to Norbert Dentressangle, in a three-year multi-million pound deal.
The operation involves more than 100 outbound movements from Interfloor’s production sites in Haslingden, Lancashire and Scotland’s Dumfries.
ND will use a new fleet of 19 artics with cutainside-trailers and 11 (18-tonne) rigids to handle the outbound movements. It will also make more than 500 customer deliveries a week.
Ian Merrifield, operations manager at Interfloor, said: "We are committed to improving our supply chain and recognise that by outsourcing the transport operation we can achieve this more effectively and focus our attention on expanding the business.”
ND reveled last week that the fate of its Comet contract lay in the hands of the retailer's administrator Deloitte.
