Norbert Dentressangle has had its contract with Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA) renewed for three years.
The operator will use a core fleet of 16 vehicles and 64 trailers, including some 15.6m longer semi-trailers, to move finished products between GDHA’s manufacturing plant in Preston to its national DC in Stoke-on-Trent. It will also provide shunting at both sites.
Ian Worsley, head of logistics at GDHA, said the introduction of longer semi- trailers has reduced its cost and carbon footprint.
ND has been working with GDHA, which manufactures brands such as Stoves, Belling and New World, for 13 years, making around 9,700 deliveries per year.
It will continue to deliver to its customers including major electrical retailers, distributors, wholesalers and suppliers of professional catering equipment.
ND hopes to improve efficiency and reduce costs by using its core fleet for backhaul and night movements for other customers.
